GENERAL INDICATION
- mild to moderate pain relief
- fever reduction
- primary dysmenorrhea
EXAMPLE OF DRUGS
- Diclofenac Sodium(Voltaren)
- Ibuprofen(Brufen)
- Mefenamic Acid(Ponstan)
VOLTAREN
- 50MG tablet, 75mg/3ml injection
- injection doses must be consult with specialist
- using tablet(50mg), 100-150 mg per day on divided dose
- 75mg/3ml injection, administer only once daily by deep intamuscular(preferably buttocks)
- in severe cases, 2 times per day is considered(max 2 days)
IBUPROFEN 200MG tablet
- adults- 2oo-400mg tds
- max 2.4g/day
- peads 20-30mg/kg/day(divided dose)
MEFENAMIC ACID(PONSTAN)250MG CAPSULE/TABLET
- Adult
- 250-500MG TDS WHEN NEEDED
- Limits to 7 consecutive days
- for peads > 6 months, 6.5-25mg/kg tds-qid when needed, limited to 7 consecutive days
